CrossFire Patent Chemistry Database

While much information on synthetic chemistry is published in the public literature, many novel reaction processes and compounds appear only in patent documents. The Patent Chemistry Database (PCD) — a new structure searchable factual database (CrossFire) specifically designed for scientists in Synthesis and Drug Design — is indispensable in synthesis planning and lead discovery. Patent Chemistry Database indexes chemical reactions, substances and substance-related data from organic chemistry and life sciences patent publications (World, U.S. and European) since 1976.

PCD provides extensive experimental reaction and substance data. Unique advantages are:

  • Complete experimental reaction text is provided in addition to the reaction scheme
  • Measured bioactivity data (e.g. EC/IC50-values, drug-target-binding constants) exportable to structure-activity-relationship-tables (SAR) make drug design easier
  • Indexing of prophetic compounds gives access to compounds not/rarely found elsewhere
  • Markush structure and reaction display together with the claims text makes relevance checking easier
  • Markush Family – showing a list of specific examples related to this Markush formula in a patent — gives a better understanding of the claim
