CrossFire Beilstein

CrossFire Beilstein, CrossFire Gmelin and the Patent Chemistry Database form the CrossFire Database Suite. The suite represents a unique, deeply indexed source of experimental data in organic, inorganic and organometallic chemistry.

The suite contains:

  • Substances: fully searchable chemical structures. Substance records show physical, chemical and bioactivity data – including pharmacodynamics and (eco-)toxicology data from different publications
  • Reactions: fully searchable single and multi-step reactions, many with reaction procedure text
  • Citations: indexed from the primary organic, inorganic and organo-metallic chemistry journal literature going back to 1772 and patent literature

CrossFire Beilstein covers core organic chemistry since 1771 and patent publications from 1869-1980. CrossFire Beilstein provides all the organic chemistry information that chemists need to identify synthetic routes. Discovery scientists find physical substance data and can explore the pharmacological, ecological and toxicological outcomes. Specific bioassay results, pharmacodynamic parameters, logPs, toxicity values and other important types of data are all directly accessible.

CrossFire Gmelin’s deep indexing makes it the essential first step in materials science and catalysis research. It is the only comprehensive, electronically searchable source of reactions, structures, properties and citations from inorganic and organometallic chemistry journals, with sources going back to 1772. Find millions of substances for development of materials, such as phosphors, catalysts and polymers, as well as other substances used in electronics, magnetics, optics and nanoscience. It covers general inorganic compounds, including: nano materials, zeolites and laser materials, as well as coordination compounds, solid-state compounds, glasses and ceramic materials, alloys, doped materials, catalysts and minerals.

The Patent Chemistry Database (PCD) indexes reactions, experimental reaction text and substance related information from English language organic chemistry and life science patent documents published since 1976. PCD complements CrossFire Beilstein, which covers patent literature from 1876 until 1980. PCD indexes one million prophetic compounds, information rarely covered in other databases, and offers an easy-to-read, expanded Markush structure display expanded Markush structure display and claims text. PCD is updated bi-weekly.
